So what's the future hold for The Bees ? Does Coach Cox stay or go, most people will be asking?

Not pulled many trees up in his few years as an EPL coach. For me Mr Robinson and Katie Eleftheriou will give the team to Smital as player/coach.

Last year’s team on paper was one of the best looking Bees teams in a while, but never really got going.

It was the usual from-me-to-you-from-you- to-me show of Smital and Masa. I expect a small but effective clear

out of some players and some new faces.

So let’s take a look at last year’s squad and see wether the players could/may return.

Smital needs a game-winning goalie and will look elsewhere for his starting net minder. Guildford's Hadfield or Steelers’ Jaszczyk may offer some help.

Will have another year at Bees competing for the number one spot.

Local lad needs the ice, if he leaves it will be for the Hornets otherwise

Good season for Galazzi, not paid much if any thing so would be a

good re-signing.

With Smital and Masa Jasik is a local import, injury prone but will/should

get re-signed.

So what will the Bees want/get ? Well, player/coach Smital will be told play-offs at all costs! A very good big blue liner import, one who will die for the team; a game-winning netminder, possibly Hadfield given the chance could be the man. They also need a forward Brit,  D who wants to win and succeed - give him Longs number and throw in a Savage from Guildford!

BRACKNELL BEES REVIEW

THANKS TO ‘THE JOCK STRAP’

YOU GOT it 1st FROM THE

BEES SECURE TWO BRITISH FORWARDS

The Bracknell Bees are delighted to announce that forwards Oliver Brönnimann and Alan Lack are joining the club for the 2012/13 English Premier Ice Hockey League season.

25-year old Ollie moves to the Hive after three years playing for rivals the Basingstoke Bison. Although born in Kent, Ollie possesses dual British - Swiss nationality and it was whilst in Switzerland playing for Genève-Servette in 2005 that he was first selected to represent GB in the Under 18s World Championships. Ollie joined the Guildford Flames for the 2005/06 season and soon became a fan-favourite, racking up 165 points in four successful seasons at the Spectrum. He was also selected twice in that period for the GB Under 20s World Championships squads.

At the start of the 2009/10 season Ollie moved to the Bison, where he continued to be an offensive threat to opponents. In 353 career EPIHL matches, he has scored an impressive 155 goals and picked up 133 assists.

19-year old Alan Lack is well known to all at the Hive. Another product of Bracknell's successful junior development programme, Alan has been on two-way contracts with the Bracknell Hornets for the last couple of years, but has only been limited to only 8 appearances in a Bees jersey. In 101 English National Ice Hockey League matches, he has scored 52 goals and had 61 assists, whilst also finding himself in the penalty box for over 260 minutes.

Bees Head Coach Gareth Cox said; "Being able to sign a British forward of Ollie's quality is excellent news. He has proven at Guildford and Basingstoke that he has an eye for the goal and I know that he will boost our offensive production. He has played alongside most of our target signings/re-signings and we know that his professional attitude will fit straight into the changing room ethos."

"Lacky needs little introduction to Bees fans. Although he's only 5'6" tall, he possesses fantastic energy, gives 100% each shift and disrupts opposition defences with his gritty style. When he came in for a few games in March, you could see the lift he gave to the home crowd and bench with no-holds-barred performances. I'm looking forward to seeing him do that week in, week out in a Bees’ jersey."

Bees add both youth and experience

The Bracknell Bees are delighted to announce the return of experienced club captain Rob Lamey for the 2012/13 season, along with a permanent contract for young British defenceman, Lewis Turner.

Rob joined the Bees from rivals the Guildford Flames at the start of last season and instantly became a key member of the squad. He has also been an invaluable ambassador off the ice in liaising with club sponsors and mentoring junior players.

In a senior career that has also seen stints in Basingstoke, Wightlink, Swindon and Chelmsford, Rob has amassed 443 points in the EPIHL regular season (167 goals and 276 assists) and 47 points in the Play Offs (25 goals and 22 assists). He is one of league's leading points scorers amongst active players and will be keen to join the exclusive "500 Club" in the coming campaign.

Rob is a product of the Guildford junior system and has also represented Great Britain in two under-20s World Championships in 1999 and 2000.

19-year old Lewis broke into the Bees squad in December, when injuries on the blue line were taking their toll. He instantly impressed supporters and team mates alike as he calmly adapted to the increased intensity of the EPIHL, balancing solid performances with his responsibilities in being a key member of the Bracknell Hornets' defensive corps.

Lewis has risen through the ranks of the junior development programme at Bracknell and broke into the Hornets English National Ice Hockey League (ENIHL) squad at the age of 16. Last season, he picked up 2 assists for the Bees and 1 goal and 3 assists for the Hornets.

Bees Head Coach Gareth Cox is pleased with the latest signings; "I'm so glad that Rob's back. He is a fantastic asset to the club and a true leader on and off the ice. He is a consummate professional and is fully committed to helping the improve its position this season."

"Lewis has deservedly earned the opportunity to join the Bees on a permanent basis, having worked so hard over the last couple of seasons. He grew in confidence and stature last season and he possesses a fantastic enthusiasm to just play the sport he loves."

Bees GM Stuart Robinson added; "The permanent signings of Lewis and Alan Lack are a testament to our ongoing faith and commitment to developing players in Bracknell's superb junior programme."

"Gareth and Lukas Smital have told me that there will again be two or three of next season's Hornets squad, who they are keen to put on two-way contracts. For the sustainable future of our sport and this league, you have to look after and give hope of progression to your home talent and luckily we've got some great kids in the pipeline."
