Connolly joins the herd 16th of May 2013 The ADD Recycling Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announce the signing of British forward Aaron Connolly. The highly talented 19-year-old and Great Britain under-20s captain is another excellent addition to the Herd’s offence. He is no stranger to Bison player/coach Doug Sheppard as the pair were part of the Slough Jets play-off winning team in 2012. He joined the Jets on a two-way deal from Chelmsford in season 2010/11 going on to score 30 goals for the Berkshire outfit having hit the net 45 times for the Chieftains. Sheppard is really pleased to added Connolly to the Herd and said: “He is one of the best young players around. He is going to score us some important goals this season as he is not afraid to get his nose dirty." Connolly is delighted to be reunited with Sheppard and said: “When I heard about Sheps (Doug Sheppard) aspiration for the season and what he wants to do and achieve I wanted to be a part of it. Talking about his playing style the forward added: “You can expect an honest performance every shift as I give 100 per cent and like to get into people’s faces.” Connolly’s jerseys are available to own and loan at a price of £150 for the home jersey and £120 for the away shirt. All Owners and Loaners will have their name printed on the back of the player’s jersey, as well as having the opportunity of a photograph with their respective player at the end of the season. All you have to do is e-mail info@bstokebison.co.uk - the shirts will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis, when the announcement is made on the official Basingstoke Bison website. Young fans can sponsor their favourite player for the year. This will cost £30 for the season and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The club is holding a season ticket evening on Wednesday June 5, at 8.00pm in the bar above the arena, with doors opening at 7.30pm.Applications for season tickets will be available and completed forms can be handed in on the night, together with payment. The early bird payment offer will end Friday June 7, so this is your opportunity to reserve your seats for what should be another exciting season ahead. During the evening, player/coach Sheppard will be announcing two further player signings. Corporate sponsor announcements will also be confirmed for this season, along with Booster Club news. A draw will take place to see which sponsors logo will be displayed on the shirts for the 2013/14 season. Also during the evening coach Sheppard will be announcing the winning design for the Basingstoke Bison 25th anniversary logo that will be worn on the team shirts for the forthcoming season.
