Sheppard has a great team in Slough, so why leave? He built a team that was challenging for the title right up to a disastrous game against the Steeldogs towards the end when it seems they just gave up, but really they were just getting ready for the big one - the play-offs. Could Redmond of the Bison be up for a player-coach job at the Jets?
So let’s take a look at last year’s squad and see wether the players could/may return.

A coach needs to be in place sooner rather than later as Sheppard will be picking the best from the Jets’ roster to take to Bisoland with him. Redmond of the Bison may have his nose put out at Bison and may end up at Slough, or could the Jets’ owners go with the Watts Senior and Co? Whoever they go with it will be a team rebuilding operation with mainly all new imports and some new Brits to come in. Don’t count out the return of Long, and Skene could be there or thereabouts.

SLOUGH JETS REVIEW
THANKS TO ‘THE JOCK STRAP’
YOU GOT it 1st FROM THE

Fans favourites Jet back
Slough Jets Head Coach Slava Koulikov is delighted to announce the start of his 2012/13 squad with the signings of Darius Pliskauskas and Adam Greener and the retention of Craig Moran.
Darius joined the Jets in 2010/11 and finished the season highest point scorer, returning in 2011/12 where he again finished high in the points, both seasons accumulating over 80 points at over 1.5 points per game. He played alongside Slava in the 2010/11 team who went on the win the Premier Cup.
As well as a distinguished career both in Europe and his five seasons to date in the UK Darius has been a consistent representative of his country at the World Championships Division 1 where he recently scored 2+3 in his 3 appearances.
After sampling success with the Jets in 2010/11 in the Cup Final Darius was again part of a championship winning team when the Jets won the Play-off final in April 2012 and explained rejoining Slough was an easy decision to make; “I have enjoyed my two seasons so far in Slough. The team is a great hard working team, the Owners and Management are great and the fans are the best in the country. Having won twice with Slough, being asked to come back for a third season was an opportunity I wouldn’t turn down and I’m looking forward to getting back in September for the new season.”
In addition to the signing of Darius Pliskauskas Slava also announces the return of fans favourite, no nonsense, defenceman Adam Greener who will not only patrol the Jets blue line this season but will also join the EPL coaching team as Assistant Coach. The 30 year old defenceman plays a tough, hard hitting style and is never afraid to look out for his team mates. One of the biggest presences in the EPL, Adam is about to start his 15th season of professional hockey. He started in 1998/99 at Oxford before moving to Basingstoke for a spell. He then played a full three seasons with the Jets in the EPL before moving to Bracknell but back at Slough he has tasted success three times with the 09/10 and 11/12 play-offs and the 10/11 cup.

LOCAL BOY RACKS UP MORE AIR MILES
Slava Koulikov, Head Coach of the Slough Jets, today announced that he has re-signed forward Terry Miles to the 2012/13 team, his 8th season with the club.
28 year old Terry plays a tough, hard hitting role and learned his skating and his hockey at Slough, representing the junior teams at every level before making his senior debut, aged 17 in 2001 representing the Jets in the BNL. Terry stayed with the club as they moved into the EPIHL and proudly wore the “C” on his jersey for the 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons.
Terry moved to EPL rivals Guildford Flames in 2007/08 and played two seasons there, winning the league in his first season. His two terms with the Flames were followed by two terms with the Bracknell Bees where Terry once again showed his leadership qualities by sporting the “C” on his jersey.
Terry has also represented his country in the World Under 18 Junior Championships in 2002, scoring and assisting for two points while collecting 14 penalty minutes.
After signing back with the Jets Terry commented; “I'm very happy to sign back in Slough again. This will be my 8th season playing for my home town club and the highlight of my career was winning the playoffs last year. Now I'm even hungrier to compete for trophies here!”
He continued; “With the injuries I've had and over the years and a disappointing year points wise, the thought of retiring had crossed my mind but the draw of playing with a great group of guys and challenging for everything in this highly competitive league was too much for me to pass up. Slava and Adam are putting together a great room of guys that I know will buy into the teams ethos and already I can't wait for the season to start.”
Slava Koulikov spoke about his signing; “He’s another player from the play-off winning team and he plays hard every shift. He plays a selfless game and always gives his all for the team. I’ve yet to play with Terry but I remember that I didn’t want to be on the ice against him. He was high on my list and Adam and Craig have both highly recommended him so I’m pleased we’ve signed him and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Terry stands at 5 foot 7 and weighs 178lbs. He shoots right handed. Previous clubs: Slough Jets, England Under-18/20 Team, Guildford Flames, Bracknell Bees.

Slough Jets bid farewell to four
The Slough Jets would like to thank Adam Calder, Tom Devey, Mark Galazzi and Andrew Melachrino who will not be returning to the Jets for the 2012/13 season.
Devey, Galazzi and Melachrino were all summer signings for the Jets in 2011 while Adam Calder joined the Jets in January 2010 and was one of the first players re-signed for the 2011/12 season.
Adam Calder came to the Jets with an impeccable record from the Coventry Blaze, holding a number of Elite League records. After his first half season with Slough he was a target of many clubs in the EPL but returned for a second season, both seasons ending high in the points scoring charts. In his time with the Jets Adam was a consistent threat and put up 73+67 in 78 appearances at nearly 1.8 points per game including 3+3 in the 2012 Play-offs.
Tom Devey signed to the Jets as backup to Gregg Rockman and shared the duties with Danny Milton and Ryan Bainborough. He made 26 appearances with the Jets before travel problems ended his season early, taking to the ice in one game and posting a 85.71 save percentage and allowing just one goal.
Mark Galazzi returned to the Slough Jets last season after a year out from hockey and was soon straight back into the thick of the action. The utility player spent time playing both forward and defence and finished the season with 2+9 from his 58 appearances, racking up 34 penalty minutes.
Andrew Melachrino signed to the Slough ENL Jets last season on a two way contract with the Slough Jets. He spent time solely playing up covering for injuries following Tom Carlon’s departure before returning to concentrate on ENL1 for the end to their season. 18 year old Melachrino is a great prospect for the future and ended the season with 2+1 from 35 appearances.
Assistant Coach Adam Greener said of the departures; “Adam, Tom, Mark and Andrew all played a part in the success we shared in 2011/12 and it was awesome to share the play-off moment with them. On behalf of the club I wish them all the best for the forthcoming season.”
