Janne back to make more magic for Lightning

Supporters of the MK Lightning can breathe easy today with confirmation that Finnish hot-shot Janne Jokila has committed to the team for the 2013-14 season.

Known to his team-mates as ‘The Magician’, Janne signed for the Lightning last February to replace Nick Poole who decided to step back

from playing to concentrate on coaching.  And once he found his feet with the team, Janne – drafted to the NHL Columbus Bluejackets – rewarded the fans’ faith in him by scoring 24 points in 19 games, impressing with his agility and vision on the ice.

Nick said that he believes Janne has enormous potential to be a key player for the Lightning next season.  "Janne came in at short notice

last season and hadn't played for several months, so it took him time to get used to the league and also back into playing shape.  It became apparent to us very quickly what a skillful player he is.  He has as much skill as any player we have ever had in our colours and I'm very excited at the prospect of having him in shape and with us for a whole year.

"Janne knows we have high expectations for him next season, and I know he'll be working hard in the off-season so that he can hit the ground running in September.  I'm confident that next year he can increase his points production, and I believe he'll be one of the top forwards in our league".

"I'm really excited about coming back," said Janne.  "I've really enjoyed playing in Milton Keynes.  We have a great team, coaches,

owners - and especially we have great supporters!

"I can't wait for the season to start - I really think we're going to have a great season."
